Things I’ve recently learnt:
1. Never sleep with a girl who can find a condom in her room without a trouble in the dark.
2. Everyone who discusses Edgar Allen Poe either underrates him or overrates him.
3. When you’re telling a story and instantly realize that it sucks the best way to escape the criticism is to say, “You had to be there.”
All the wisdom I have for right now.

1. That is never, ever a good thing.
2. Same with Hemingway, Salinger, Fitzgerald etc. It always happens.
3. I hate when people work me up about a story and end it with that.
Yes, but Poe especially to me. I feel like people are giving me the death look when I respond, “He’s alright.” There’s no middle ground, at least with Salinger people go, “I like some of his stuff,” and everyone who I talk to has never read Hemingway and of Fitzgerald they’re like, “Gatsby was awesome.” Poe it seems like a black and white issue, where there’s much less gray then on most authors; his entire catalog of writings is so sacred to people. I love Salinger, but still I don’t go bananas for all of it.
I feel Poe’s uniqueness makes him similar to when people eat very odd, outlandish food. They’re like, “man this is delicious–you need to try this!” Then everyone around is just thinking that those persons are crazy. You know? I hope that just made sense, but am partially doubtful.
